New PA system for Swansea City

Swansea.com Stadium is home to Swansea City Football Club and Ospreys rugby team. Swansea City A.F.C recently upgraded the stadium’s Public Address/Voice Alarm and Back of House audio systems.Public address/voice alarm systems provide life safety and security for public spaces, so it’s absolutely essential to ensure each stadium has a great system in place. They provide clear, adaptable direction in case of emergencies and evacuations, and Swansea City A.F.C were keen to ensure they had the latest technology.

The club chose Vaughan Sound Installations Ltd (part of the PAI Group) to install the system. Vaughan Sound recommended a NEXO loudspeaker system, widely used in stadia across the world (including Croke Park in Dublin and the Etihad Stadium, home of Manchester City F.C).

The amplification and system processing are undertaken using NEXO NXAMP Series amplifiers and state-of-the-art Q-SYS core processors, used extensively in venues of this nature. The new QSC Q-SYS core dual networked control processors provide both audio distribution and monitoring of the stadium system, whilst interfacing with the TOA VX-3000 voice alarm system for back of house areas.

The system has been designed to comply with current safety standards and Football Association guidelines for sound systems for emergency purposes.

Gareth Davies, Chief Financial Officer at Swansea City A.F.C said of the project:
“We would like to thank PAI Group for their work in upgrading the public address system at the newly-named Swansea.com Stadium.
The sound quality within the stadium has improved vastly and the feedback from supporters has been hugely positive. We want to ensure the matchday experience is a great experience for both home and away supporters and a high-quality public address system is of paramount importance. We have also been delighted to work with Nick and his team at Medialease who provided asset finance for the project”

Paul Adams, Managing Director of Vaughan Sound commented:
“We are extremely grateful to Medialease for their invaluable advice and support on this project.”
